Macroeconomics Project

This project, titled Effects of High Unemployment from COVID, was created as part of a college Macroeconomics class. Me and my group set out to analyze how the pandemic’s spike in unemployment impacted the U.S. labor market and broader economy. The project took two weeks to complete, including research, data analysis, presentation design, and collaborative discussions One of the most interesting insights was how uneven the recovery was, while tech and healthcare boomed, sectors like hospitality struggled to rebound. A major challenge was narrowing down such a broad topic. We included data and graphs to support our data. The final result was well-received, and our team was proud of how we connected real-world events to macroeconomic principles. Our biggest takeaway was the importance of policy flexibility and workforce adaptability in responding to economic crises.

Biz Cafe

This project, titled Kratos Koffee, was for a college business course. Our team simulated running a cafe business aimed at health-conscious customers. Inspired by the Greek god Kratos, we built a brand around strength, wellness, and community. Our goal was to design a competitive business model through decisions on pricing, staffing, marketing, customer service, and product quality. The project spanned several weeks and involved decision-making using financial reports, customer surveys, and sales data. I served as VP of Operations, managing inventory decisions, overseeing supply orders, and helping adjust strategy based on our performance week to week.
One of our most insightful findings was how small changes in pricing or advertising could greatly impact revenue and customer traffic. We initially sold more coffee than our competitors, but focusing heavily on customer satisfaction. Our biggest challenge was balancing expenses with income, especially as we made costly startup purchases. The experience gave us valuable lessons in communication, strategic thinking, and how important it is to align financial decisions with brand goals. The final result taught us the complexities of running a business—and left us better prepared for real-world leadership and teamwork challenges.
